Lesson 2: Radio Scripts Key Stage 4: English

'Rather Fragile these days'

This lesson allows pupils to work with artefacts in a new way. The skill of curating is very important; teaching the idea of collecting, grouping, finding themes, ideas and making connections.

Pupils can use software such as Audacity or Garageband to create a podcast which communicates the importance of each object.

Purpose of study:

Students are to create a short Radio Programme – The History of Polar in 16 Objects. They should work collaboratively to create and perform a script.

  • Spoken Standard English: expressing ideas using Standard English whenever and wherever appropriate.
  • Create a Radio Script. Aiming to include the same quality of description that can be heard in the Kit Bag clip.
